Congress leaders, activists and sympathisers took out massive rallies from various parts of Kadapa and converged on the municipal stadium here for Congress party’s ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra’ on Tuesday demanding that YSR Foundation chairman Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy join active politics and contest from Kadapa Parliamentary constituency.

All the Congress MPs, MLCs and MLAs in Kadapa district who participated in the meeting urged Jagan to contest from Kadapa parliamentary constituency and asserted that Congress would regain power and win from both Lok Sabha constituencies and all 10 Assembly constituencies in the district.

The leaders flayed the grand alliance and Praja Rajyam leaders and accused them of trying to prevent Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s entry into politics by levelling baseless charges against him. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, who furthered industrialisation and took up social service activities, should contest from Kadapa Parliamentary constituency, the speakers said.

Mr. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy was born on December 21, 1972 in Pulivendula village of Kadapa District, Andhrapradesh. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy popularly called as Jagan Anna, son of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Y.S JAGAN is considered as the leader of youth in Andhrapradesh. Y.S Jagan’s followers in the Congress have been staging rallies for quite some time now demanding that to take the plunge. Mr. Vivekananda Reddy(M.P) said that in view of this demand, the Chief Minister and his family members had approved his entry into politics. Y.S. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy received his early education from Pulivendula and later obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration. While in college, he took active part in sports, excelled in Cricket and won several shields at various Inter-collegiate tournaments.

He founded the daily Telugu news paper saakshi (http://www.sakshi.com ).Jagan is offering the saakshi news paper with all colour pages for Rs.2.50/-. Now Jagan wants to promote Telugu news tv channel. Mr Jaganmohan Reddy set up a unit, Raghuram Cements, spread over 2,000 acres at Nallalingayapalle in Kamalapuram constituency. His initiative got Dalmia Cements and Bramhani steel plant at Jammalamadugu, Easwar Cements in Mylavaram and Rs. 270-crore Govindaraja spinning mills in Pulivendula. Y.S Jagan is directly providing employment to Thousand’s of people through his projects.

Pulivendula today has become synonymous with Y.S Jagan, the autos bear his name,every one in Andhra Pradesh knows him . his home has a floating crowd. It is a home for all. Go there and no one stops you or screens you, cups of coffee and tea are constantly circulated.

Political Career:

At the young age driven by his passion to serve the poor and inspired by the then Prime minister Mr.Rajiv Gandhi who is an idol for the youth in politics and none other than his father Mr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy he took the Indian National Congress membership.From then onwards he never look back continued working for the people. Many a times people requested him to contest elections but he sensitively rejected saying it is not necessary to to be an MLA or MP to serve the the people.

Social and Cultural Activities:

Throughout his public life, Mr. Jagan has worked actively for the welfare of women and children and the underprivileged sections of society. For their benefit, he established several institutions. Yeduguri Sandhinti Jagan Mohan Reddy (born December 21, 1972) is an Indian politician and member of the Parliament of India, representing the Kadapa constituency. His political party is the Indian National Congress. He is the son of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr.Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.^[1] He is in line to become the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, after his father's death.^[2] His father's former aide, KVP Ramachandra Rao, is considered instrumental for pressing the candidature for the Chief Minister’s post.^[3]

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was born in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh to Late Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy and Vijaya Lakshmi in a Christian family. He has a younger sister, Sharmila. He did his schooling in Hyderabad Public School, and graduation in Nizam College, Hyderabad

Jagan was born on December 21, 1972 in Pulivendula village of Kadapa district. He did his schooling in Hyderabad Public School, and graduation in Nizam College. He later achieved a post graduate degree in Business Administration. Taking active part in sports as a college student. Jagan is married to Bharathi, daughter of EC Gangi Reddy.

After taking membership of the Indian National Congress, Jagan contested from Kadapa in the general elections 2009 and emerged victorious.

The allotment of 487 acres of land in March 2007 to Raghuram Cements ^[4], which had jagan as one of its directors, was criticised by the opposition parties.^[5] Following this, Jaganmohan Reddy offered to return the land.^[6]

Following the death of his father, it was alleged that congress workers in Jagan Sena offered between Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000 to the families of people who had natural deaths or committed suicides for other reasons to claim that the reason for their death was the fatal accident of YSR^[7]

Jagan tops list of taxpayer politicians in 2009-2010 financial year. Jagan, who had paid just Rs 2.92 lakh tax for the entire financial year 2008-09, has paid Rs 6.6 crore advance tax in the first six months of this year, projecting a tax outgo of at least Rs 22 crore with his personal income expected to cross Rs 70 crore in 2009-10. ^[8]
